Monarch butterflies at Porritt

Porritt School is now a member of the NZ Monarch Butterfly Trust. The Trust's aim is to build up the number of Monarchs in New Zealand by creating protective environments, tagging butterflies for research, growing the plants they need for survival and educating local communities. Our Eco Kids Club will be looking at ways to help this happen.

I am so pleased to see the Eco Club has joined the Monarch Butterfly Trust. We have so many kids who are fascinated with our monarchs at school. I hope this promotes further care from the children that helps with their survival. I feel a big thank you for Mr Beere would be nice as he has planted more Swan plants and given the opportunity for more monarchs at our school. Well done to all involved.
