Friday's meeting

This Friday, you will need to bring a plastic tray along. An icecream container, meat tray or plastic takeaways tray are all suitable.

We also need some seeds to plant. These could be broccoli, marigold, lettuce or pansy seed. Please see Mrs. Anderson this week if you can help.

We still need to collect up clean yoghurt containers.

We need your ideas!

Recently, Westshore school were lucky to be granted some money from the Mazda Trust Foundation. They have chosen to build a new garden. Each year, schools have the opportunity to apply for funding. We are going to apply this year...

but before we do anything, we need ideas! What would you like to see at our school? (It needs to improve our school environment). Here are some ideas we have already:

-tables and seats to eat our lunch at
-a glasshouse to grow our seeds and store our gardening gear
-a new garden

Please post your ideas.

Our edible garden

Last week, we tidied up the vegetable garden and planted new plants. We now have new lettuce plants, chives, parsley and we also planted marigold flower plants.

Do you know why we planted marigolds? They have a special job to do. I wonder what it is...

Eco kids 2011

Welcome all our new Eco kids! There is lots to do this year and it's wonderful to see such a lot of interest in looking after our school's environment.
