Thank you!

A big thank you goes to The Hawke's Bay Environment Centre in Hastings in conjunction with the Napier City Council, for arranging worms for our worm farm activity. The cost of these has been covered by the Napier City Council to encourage more sustainable ways of getting rid of waste.

Worm farms

Today some of our Eco Kids Club people spent their lunch time making mini worm farms. Some were even brave enough to take on the job of picking up the worms (complete with horse manure) and transferring this to the bottles. They survived, (the worms too!), and everyone had success.

Can you help?

We have a number of projects coming up which depend on the generosity and support of our community. If you can help with your time, donations of potting mix, unwanted pots for seed germination... please contact the school office. Ph 06 844 4620.

World Environment Day

Friday 5th June, is World Environment Day. What can you do to help? Start with something small - something that you can do easily. Maybe it is helping with sorting the recycling at home. Maybe it is turning off lights that are left on when no-one is in the room. Maybe it is turning off a tap, picking up rubbish in your street or walking instead of going in a car. You can share what you have done by making a comment to this post! Alicia.
